A Fresh Tart

Hello pastry lover, welcome to our story. Remember the carefree days of childhood, when you didn't feel guilty about eating mountains of sweet things with questionable amounts of sugar? Well, that time didn't stop. At A Fresh Tart you get a cake for every occasion, a cookie for every moment of the day and a coffee to help you make it through the day.


"Fresh" defines the delicious artisanal fresh pastries we bake. Tart refers to yes, pies and all the goodies being made artisanal. A fresh start, but a tasty one, so drop the "s," so it suddenly becomes a baking paradise.


We started with our own coffee house called Feliks a couple of years ago, but our love for coffee made way for baking and pastries. 


Say goodbye to Feliks, because It's time for something new, A Fresh Tart.


A Fresh Tart offers an allround sensory experience, offering our clients delicious treats. This all baked with local products in the heart of Antwerp. A truly yummy feeling when it comes to taste. In a rush? Don't worry, takeaway only.

Hello pastry lover and welcome to our story!


Curious how we created 'A fresh tart'? Well it's quite a story actually!

In 2019 we started a small coffee & bagel bar called Feliks, early 2020 COVID struck us aswell as everyone else on the planet.

We were forced to sit at home, and what happens when you're at home and you start thinking?


Sometimes the best ideas come to mind when in such a state.

Jesse was just a hobby baker who loved to bake for friends and family, Giovanni was more for the eating part.

This hobby became a passion and like a small seed it sprouted to an unstoppable will to create new things, especially pastries. Everyone knows the popular serie on Netflix called 'You' right? Well we were watching this serie and noticed a small cupcake bakery called 'A fresh tart'. Jesse and Giovanni looked at eachother and smiled, this was going to be our new name.


Ofcourse we won't be giving cupcakes but something that's closer to our hearts.An English inspired bakery. Why? My mother's family side up to my great grandparents were British.

Jesse grew up with and English-Nepali grandfather and he guesses that's were the inspiration came from.After a long struggle of finding the perfect location we eventually found it end 2022. With trepidation in our hearts we signed the contract and started with our new chapter.


So for us this really is a fresh tart.
